To date, Cummins has produced nearly 10 million B Series engines globally, over 2 million of which have found a home under the hood of a Ram truck since 1989. Today, the B Series family of engines includes both a commercial version – the ISB – and a pickup version, the Cummins Turbo Diesel. Brennan Magee, owner of Class 8 Transports, purchased his first Cummins-powered Dodge Ram in 1993. Since then, Magee has owned 10 Cummins-powered Rams and racked up over 6 million miles. Four of Magee’s Rams have crossed the 1 million-mile mark, with two even surpassing the 2 million-mile mark. See Six Million-Mile Man for more.
Caj Flynn of Marine Express owns two Cummins-powered 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 pickups – one with 250,000 miles (402,336 km) and the other with 942,000 miles (1,516,002 km). Flynn and his truck were recently seen in an episode of Truck U on the Speed channel that highlighted the importance of proper maintenance to the durability of Cummins Turbo Diesel engines.
