Fact or Fiction — You should let your truck idle after full load operation
This is a fact. Idling the engine for a few minutes before routine shutdown is recommended. After full-load operation, you should let your engine idle for three to five minutes before shutting it down. The idle period will allow the lubricating oil and coolant to carry excess heat away from the combustion chamber, bearings, internal components and turbocharger.
